Table-top RPGs are important to me in a way that I’ve seldom had the courage to describe. Sure, they helped a lot make me into the writer I am, and taught me a ton about storytelling and collaborative fiction; but much more than this, it helped me deal with a lot of the difficult things in my life, and helped me balance my sense of self and identity. As you may or may not know, I am genderfluid, and table-top RPGs helped me come to terms with a lot of what that means.
